Fellows’ July Luxury Replica Watch sale achieved strong results across the board with a 77% sold rate and a total hammer price of just over £260,000.
Major watch brands sold particularly well at the sale, with an Omega limited-edition James Bond SkyFall Seamaster Professional Co-Axial 007 watch achieving a solid sale price.
However Rolex Replica was the winning brand of the auction, with 80% of the 68 replica watches offered sold, as did all of the sale’s Rolex branded watch boxes.
The highlight of the Rolex segment was a gentleman’s stainless steel Oyster Perpetual Turn-O-Graph watch (pictured, right), a lot that garnered major interest and performed well, doubling its estimate and achieving £4,600 on the day.
Away from the more well-known watchmakers, Fellows’ ‘Miscellaneous Wrist Watch’ section did well. A lady’s stainless steel Deep Blue watch from Favre-Leuba and a gentleman’s stainless steel Aerospace GMT watch from Zodiac performed especially well, exceeding their estimates significantly.
Pocket replica watches also proved popular in the July Watch Sale. A gilt consular case Oignon pocket watch by N.E Bouton was the star lot among the pocket watches, realising £1,900.
Fellows’ managing director, Stephen Whittaker said “We are happy to see the auctions settling down after the post-Brexit nervousness. This sale has shown that buyers are more and more looking for original, unrestored watches”.
